Lupercalia or Valentines Day
The Secret Teachings 3/1/14 – The Occult origins of Valentines Day (Click here to LISTEN or DOWNLOAD)
In ancient Rome, February was the official beginning of spring and was considered a time for purification. Houses were ritually cleansed by sweeping them out and then sprinkling salt and a type of wheat called spelt throughout their interiors. February 15th was, and still is to some, the date of the fertility festival, Lupercalia.
To begin the festival, members of the Luperci, an order of Roman Priests, would gather at a sacred cave. The Priests would then sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification. ***These two animals are highly symbolic to the true meaning of this date and month. We will see the significance of the dog in relationship to a trinity of the sun god, mother goddess, and the king, or god of agriculture. For example, the god of agriculture in Egypt is Osiris. He is associated with the constellation Orion and Canis Major – Orion’s dog. We will also see the significance of the goat and the goat-head, represented symbolically by the pentagram, associated with the pattern of the planet Venus, and an apple, the sign of wisdom, which is also associated with the serpent.
Once the Priests sacrificed the animals they, then, sliced the goat’s hide into strips, dipped them in the sacrificial blood, and took to the streets, gently slapping both women and fields of crops with the goat hide strips. Far from being fearful, Roman women welcomed being touched with the hides because it was believed the strips would make them more fertile in the coming year. Later in the day, all the young women in the city would place their names in a big urn. The cities bachelors would then each choose a name out of the urn and become paired for the year with his chosen woman. These matches often ended in marriage.
There are many different representations of the above mentioned mother, father and son combination, the trinity, which include mothers who, in some stories, take their sons as as a lover. You will also notice that the Goddess takes her son as lover and he becomes the father of the the God who is still seen as his father. Sort of confusing, right. No wonder it’s so difficult for people to subjectively understand their true origins. They are viewing certain facts as being false, myths at historical record, and historical record as myth. These stories are not something, in all cases, to be interpreted as literal. There as simply far to many versions of the story to have one precise understanding. The trinity is seen throughout many religions and almost all parts of the ancient and modern world. It’s seen in the phases of the moon, too, as the waxing, waning and cresenct. Three is universal throughout nature.
“Most religions have a divine trinity of the Mother, Father, and child; or Virgin (Creator), Crone (Destroyer), and Mother (Nurturer). Female energy can also be broken into the trinity of the virgin, mother, and whore, and we see this archetypal characterization in many celebraties, especially within the murder case of lady Diana of Wales. In Christianity, you have the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. In Buddhism, the trinity is Buddha, Dharma (Ultimate Truth), and Sangha (Virtue). In Hindu, you have Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The Egyptian trinity consists of Isis, Osiris, and the divine child Horus. In Sumerian, the trinity is Queen Sumerimus, Nimrod and Tammuz or Anu, Bael, and Ea in Babylon.”
“This is one example of symbols and physical representations for the Heavens, the Earth, and Hell. Another symbol for the trinity is the Fleur de Lys, which is found in Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and African art. It means the “flower of the lily,” and is a symbol of purity, the white dove and the Virgin. It is also a symbol of the trinity between the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, or the three pronged trident of the powerful Triton. Jesus’ ministry also lasted three years from his baptism on the third of April AD 3.”

Sumer: Semiramis Tammuz Nimrod
Iceland: Frigga Balder Odin
Pheonicians: Ashterath (EL) Ba’al Yamm
Egypt: Isis Osiris Horus
Babylon: Ishtar Tammuz Nimrod
Greece: Aphrodite (Venus) Adonis Ero (Ares)(Amor)
Aphrodite’s lover is Ero, or Adonis, who is also her son. Eros is one of four Greek words, which means love and erotica.
Ishtar is the Babylonian representation of Venus, the mother or goddess, and like Venus or Lucifer, Ishtar is the morning star. She is the Queen of Heaven, as is Venus. Venus’s son is named Tammuz, which is her lover, son, and the father of Nimrod.
Cupid & Venus
The modern day Cupid is often depicted with a bow & arrow, much like the representation of his father, both of which are one in the same deity, usually associated with or known as the mighty hunter.
Genesis 10:9 says “He was a mighty hunter before the Lord…even as Nimrod was the mighty hunter before the Lord.”
Genesis 10:10 says “and the beginning of his kingdom was in Ba’-bel.” (The God Ba’al?)
It is highly important that you do not study this with a modern mind-set rooted in modern education (indoctrination). Especially one rooted in the traditional idea of male or female, or the traditional concept of incest, families, mothers, fathers, or sons.
Cupid is Roman for – Amor – associated with his lover Venus.
They are the God and Goddess of love; Amor (Cupid) being the God and Venus being the Goddess. Amor (Cupid) is also the son of Venus.
The Mother Goddess of Love and Fertility
Venus, the Goddess, represents femininity, love, child birth, etc. like the Roman goddess of hunting Diana for which the Princess was named. The planet Venus is the morning star, the first light, associated with Lucifer who is the barer of light. The pattern that Venus traces out in the night sky, over so many years, takes the form of a something similar to a pentagram, which is probably why so many people associate the pentagram with Satanism. But this is simply not true in a traditional sense. Lucifer is the light bearer and Satan is the god who allowed physical form to solidify. Actually that was the god Saturn, but we get the name Satan from Saturn who is the Roman Satan and then there is the Greek Cronos. Both gods were considered to have ‘planted the seed to destruction’ within each living creature and thus, we have death, which is associated with time and how we perceive it. Therefore, Cronos, with his long white beard, become known as ‘Father Time’ and later the Grim Reaper, which is only another association with the Devil or Satan. The god Saturn was also known to eat his own children and we usually see this depicted in television shows about the persecution of Christians, but let’s get something straight, there probably is no god or devil, and, in fact, there isn’t, at least in the way people who flock to church on Sundays (SUN-days, the worship of the sun or sun god) perceive.
“Saturn was known as Ptah in Egypt who formed the Earth on a potter’s wheel. Sometimes Saturn is referred to as Rex Mundi, the King or Prince of the World. Jesus is also known as a ‘Prince’ and when you look at other depictions of Saturn the god is viewed as Father Time and later as the Grim Reaper because of his influence and control of time; thus human aging and the destruction that is brought about in the life and death of every living organism. Father time is depicted with a long white beard in the same way as Quetzalcoatl and other deities like Jesus, Zeus, Cronos, etc., and from the name Saturn comes Satan and Santa, who is depicted with a long white beard. If you tilt the planet Saturn on its side you get one of the most ancient symbols of the Sun, a circle with a dot in the middle. Since Saturn is in the astronomical house of Capricorn it is also associated with the goat, and thus Saturn or Satan, is depicted with horns in the same way as the bull and goat gods. Therefore you have the sun disc and horns used to depict the goddesses, such as Isis in Egypt.”

The pattern Venus traces out in the heavens is also similar to that of the seed lay out in an apple if you were to cut it in half. This is why the apple is associated with Venus. However, if you superimpose the book of Genesis here, you see the serpent, a worldwide symbol for wisdom, “tempt” eve with the “apple.” Some say that the apple symbolism is incorrect because there was no ‘Garden’ and the entire story is allegorical (it is!), but there are other stories suggesting that the apple was actually a pomegranate, which supposedly was formed from the blood drops of the Greek god of wine Dionysus – just another name for Jesus or Joshua. There is the Greek legend of the motherland, Hespera, a paradise “Garden of Eden” at the western end of the world where the “Serpents on the Tree” guarded golden apples of wisdom. The Greeks also called this land Poseid or Poseidon, which is another name for Neptune. Neptune was born out of the cosmic sea and possessed triune powers of spirit symbolized by his three-pronged trident. Again, here we have apples, serpents, wisdom, and the trinity.
The God of Agriculture
The Roman’s had another name for their god of agriculture – Saturn. The same Saturn who would eat his children, and is, in many regards, represented as evil, the devil or Satan. Remove one letter from Devil and you get (d)evil and add one to God and you get Go(o)d. Saturn, in the esoteric teachings, is what allows the physical world to materialize. It was the mother goddess, Earth, who called upon Sun to help fight off Saturn in the esoteric teachings. God, it is said, cast Satan, out of heaven. Again, we see in the esoteric teachings that the moon, known as Jehovah, is the great mirror reflector in the sky that gets its shine from the suns light reflecting off of it. The moon then casts that light, Lucifer, to the Earth. So, it can be said that God Jehovah cast Lucifer, the light, out of heaven, or space, and onto the Earth.
It is also interesting to observe the Egyptian god of agriculture Osiris. Returning from a hunting trip, he was known as the beast slayer and the great hunter, he is invited to a party where he is tricked into laying inside of a coffin that is sealed and cast into the Nile by his brother Set. Later, he is cut up into 14 pieces by his brother and is then magically put back together and wrapped up in linen (the first mummy) by his wife Isis and his mistress Nepthys, the wife of his brother Set. The word for seven in French is Sept or Set & the Egyptian word for Serpent is also Set. This should show you that stories of old are not as necessarily literal as they are symbolic of possible physical occurrences within the machinery of the heavens.
Osiris’s wife Isis was only able to find 13 pieces of his body as his penis was eaten by the fish of the Nile, when his body was cast there by set’s colleagues. She then constructed a golden phallus (the obelisk, a representation of a ray of sun frozen in time, the creative male energy, the penis) and impregnated herself on him to conceive the sun god Horus. Horus was the savior of the world; his power would save the Earth. This is symbolic of the representation of the Sun also dying or becoming weaker during the wintertime, only to become reborn and gain strength again from spring to summer. The sun’s life giving ability save the Earth from a symbolic death and brings the natural world back to life.
Horus, the light, was to avenge the death of his father by fighting and defeating Set, the darkness. In this battle, Horus lost his eye. Because of this, he gave this eye to his father in the underworld so that he could see. This is the eye of Horus, another symbol of the all Seeing Eye. Osiris’s death and rebirth represent the ancient ritual of the king being killed, only to be reborn again.
Many of the same stories are told and represented as if they occurred in the physical world, but have a deeper, symbolic and occult meaning. The underlying symbolism of the story, such as the god of agriculture, Osiris, being slain., is seen as the symbolic death of the natural world during the winter and the symbolic rebirth of the natural world during the spring as it is saved by his son, the sun god, who brings the Earth new life and saves it from the darkness of winter. (The “divine court” from Heliopolisis was known as the Lineage of Horus and the Memphite Theology. This Pantheon consisted of nine gods that included Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Seth, Nepthys, and Horus.)
“Every morning when the sun rises on the hor-izon it defeats the blackness of night. This is when it’s said that Horus defeats Set and casts him into the underworld. The opposite is present later in the day when the sun begins to Set, and thus loses strength, symbolically, when it’s overcome by darkness. This is when it’s said that Set defeats Horus and casts him into the underworld with his dad, Osiris. Every morning, however, the son/sun god, Horus, promises to return and save humanity from the darkness. Jesus promises to return on a cloud, as the sun does when it shines through the morning clouds. Jesus also is depicted riding a white horse, which is just another symbol of the sun.”

Osiris was associated with the constellation Orion and particularly the star Sirius. Our’ien means sperm, and this represents the male creative force as well. Sirius is the Dog Star in the constellation Canis Major or Orion’s dog.
The Egyptian’s calendar was even regulated by the movement of Sirius (Sothis in Greek). The Sothic calendar was founded on the rising of Sirius one minute before the sun, the heliacal rising in the summer. The heliacal rising takes place on July 23rd when Sirius, Earth, and the sun are in a straight line. It is said that the eyes of the sphinx line up with the exact period on the horizon where Sirius rises. This is also the time every year when elite members gather at Bohemian Grove.
“July 23rd is the day when Sirius, the Dog Star, rises from behind the Sun into the constellation Orion, the Great Hunter Nimrod, in what is called the heliacal rising. It is also known as the Sothic rising, Sotic rising, or the Sothis Rising. Sothis is Greek for Sirius and it was because of the brightness of this star that the ancients considered the summertime to be much warmer. Thus we get the ‘dog days of summer.’ The Egyptians also saw this as the time when the Bennu bird (Phoenix) would return and bring about a new age. On the morning of the heliacal rising the eyes of the Sphinx, which is much older that we have been told, align with Sirius, or Sothis, on the Horizon. This day marks an Egyptian and Sumerian high holiday and is steeped in esoteric symbolism. Sirius was important the Egypt because on the heliacal rising signaled the annual flooding of the Nile river, which would help fertilize the land for crops. It is from the Egyptian Sun-god-savior Horus, who cast his uncle Seth, or Set, the personification of the dark, into the underworld, that we get Hor-izon (horu-zon), as in the Sun on the hor-izon.”

Sirius, which is part of Orion, was represented by Anubis (Anpu) portrayed by the dog or jackal-headed god associated with Osiris (An). The leader of the Anunnaki was An (Anu), whom was also represented by a jackal or dog. The Egyptian hieroglyph for Sirius was an obelisk & five-pointed star & triangle ~ the three points represented the three stars of Sirius. Sirius is also known as “Eastern Star” (female masons) & its symbol is the inverted pentagram. The inverted pentagram within a circle is used in satanic rituals to draw other dimensional demonic entities into this world or to draw down the kingdom of Satan onto the Earth. The pentagram is symbolized by the goat head – the “Goat of Mendes” or “Baphomet.”
We should now begin to see a connection between the father, the great hunter and the death and rebirth of the king Osiris, his wife, and mother goddess Isis; Horus, their son, the light of the world and the savior of the world after avenging his fathers death at the hands of Set, the darkness. Furthermore, the mother, father, and child combination can seen from Egypt to Iceland, from Greece to Babylon, from Rome to Sumer, to the religions that come out of some of those regions such as paganism, Christianity, etc.
It is different only by name, region, and interpretation, but describes the same events occurring within the heavens and on the Earth in a symbolic terminology that only students of the secret teachings are able to understand. It is not that others cannot grasp them, it is that most others choose not to or only see things bound to the physical world. In other words, taking what they read or see as absolute.
Valentines day is the Roman festival of Lupercus, the hunter, in the same way that Christmas is a celebration of the Roman festival Saturnalia, another day to worship SATURN(alia). The Greeks named Lupercus, Hermes, the great hunter like Osiris and Nimrod, or Pan, the goat god associated with the pentagram and Baphomet. He was known as Baal to the Phoenicians. Baal is the sun god of Babylon associated with the father Nimrod, the mother Semiramus, and her son, her lover, and also the father of Nimrod, Tammuz.
Lupercus = Lupercalius & Valens = Valentines
The core occult reason for valentines day is a pagan festival to honor what many believe is not only a day in the name of this god Osiris, Nimrod, Tammuz, Cupid, Venus, Balder, Ba’al, Lilith, Molech, Bel, Lucifer, Saturn, etc., but also the birthday of Nimrod. Other beliefs associate his birth date directly with December 25th and this would make sense because we celebrate SATURN-alia on the Winter Solstice to celebrate the Sun and Nimrod, I mean Ba’al, I mean Jesus, I mean Mithra, I mean Jesus, is a sun god.
Valentine is Latin for “Valentinus” which is derived from “Valens” meaning to be strong, powerful and mighty. Now, we have a direct connection to the mighty hunter – Happy Nimrod day!
